As the year 2023 wrapped up, the personal finance app sector in Australia showed varied performance across the top Android applications. Sensor Tower's detailed data highlights how these apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

Wallet: Budget Expense Tracker saw a fluctuation in revenue, peaking at around $1.3K in early October before dropping to near $1K by year-end. Downloads remained relatively stable with a small peak at 189K in mid-November, while weekly active users tapered off from 686K to 571K during the quarter.

Splitwise experienced a revenue high of $1.1K in late November, but ended the quarter with a dip to $656. Downloads for the app showed resilience, ending the year with an increase to 1.4K, despite earlier fluctuations. Active users saw a downward trend from 12.6K to 10.4K.

For WeMoney: Pay off debt faster, there was a notable revenue jump to $1.4K in the last week of December, contrasting with a low of $609 earlier in the quarter. Downloads began strong at 1.4K but declined to just over 1K by the quarter's close.

YNAB saw its revenue rise and fall, ending on a high note at $1.1K. Downloads showed a slight decline overall, with weekly active users decreasing slightly from 770K to 735K.

Lastly, Spendee - Budget and Expense Tracker had a steady revenue stream, ending the quarter at $430. While downloads ceased after the week of October 23rd, active users saw a minimal decline from 315K to 242K.
